Chief Christopher Cook finished a grueling two-year block of instruction that was legislatively mandated for all police chiefs across the State of Texas. The Texas Police Chiefs Leadership Series, managed by the Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas, is a 40-hour block of instruction that contains relevant and legislatively mandated courses for executives. There is also a parallel track of instruction for assistant police chiefs, which is optional.
“I was honored to be selected to teach a four-hour block on strategic communication,” said Chief Cook. “By providing every executive in Texas a copy of the book, The Art of Strategic Communication, our profession is well suited to meet the myriad of professional communication needs for years to come.”
Traveling across the state every month or so, Chief Cook was able to see firsthand the amazing work being completed by agencies on the communications front. The goal of the class was to arm executives with the necessary information to make informed decisions with a strategic mindset.
